VALENTINA
ROJAS LOA

I studied Linguistics and Literature in Mexico and Arts Management and Policy in London. My life has taken me through very different landscapes and cultures: from the vast urban fabric of Mexico City to the tropical regions of Tabasco and the Ecuadorian Amazon, and later to Canada, London, Berlin and Bremen.

Perhaps for this reason, much of my work has been about bringing people together. Through exhibitions and collaborative projects, since 2005 I have created spaces where communities, scientists, policymakers, artists and other stakeholders can meet around questions that concern us all, turning conversation into shared action.

I enjoy working closely with people and with places, both from the desk, and, above all, in the field. I observe, listen, build relationships, identify opportunities, and help ideas take shape. Above all, I am a maker: when I commit to something, I work to make it into the world.

In recent years, the ecological and social challenges of our time have increasingly guided my work.

I want to contribute my energy and experience to processes of socio-ecological transformation and to help nurture forms of change that are real, sustainable and hopeful. I believe this world is profoundly beautiful, and that caring for it is one of the most meaningful tasks we have.
